8A – Solving The Problem

I am going to be addressing the problem with campus parking.
I would like to offer a product for a solution to this. Through talking t people I hear that an app for showing the availability of parking is essential. this app will reinvent the way of parking. It will show where is parking available, real time, and how to get there. It will give specifications about it as well. Ex: how long you can park there and who can park there. There will need to be someone to monitor the parking areas to get the real time update on their availabilities. another way is technology and using cameras and sensors to get the real time and update fo the parking spots. a way I can do this is adding a GPS feature and this will help with people who are unfamiliar with places. I would like to add a maps affect to it as well so people can scroll and see where places are. This will be helpful to people visiting, campus workers, and other people who park on campus. This idea can be broadened and brought to other places as well.

  1. Hi Tommy, I really agree with your ideas here. In my opinion the best option for you would be to use the GPS feature because in the long run that will probably be more efficient and cheaper than paying someone to manually check live updates on parking. I think this is a super innovative idea and has potential to be extremely successful.

  2. Tommy, I did something very similar to your idea. Furthermore, I agree that the parking availability at UF needs to be improved and an app, in my opinion, at this point may be the only hopeful way. Allowing people to know where spots are open so they do not have to drive around and cause traffic and congestion would save everyone time. I do not know how much more room they can make for more lots so I really like this idea.
