26A – Celebrating Failure

1. Tell us about a time this past semester that you failed -- whether in this class, or outside of this class. Don't spare any details! It'd be even better if there was something you tried several times this semester, and failed each time.

A time I failed was when I took my first accounting exam. It was very hard and I was not prepared for it. I thought I was prepared but I was wrong.

2. Tell us what you learned from it.  

 I learned that I was not prepared. I needed to be prepared for my next one. I got study people and they taught me how to get ready for the exam. It was very difficult and I did well.

3. 3) Reflect, in general, on what you think about failure. Failure is hard, isn't it? It's embarrassing, sure, but it also means that we have to change something about ourselves. Talk about how you handle failure (emotionally, behaviorally). Finally, talk about how this class has changed your perspective on failure -- are you more likely to take a risk now than you were just a few months ago?

I believe failure is necessary. Without failure there is no growth. A person needs to fail to be able to come up with something. It is through failure that someone will prevail and find a solution. Through winning a person will not find a solution but it is through diversity that people become successful.

    Hi Tommy, thanks for sharing your story of when you failed this past semester. I know I can relate to such a dreadful feeling from when I failed my first Calc 3 exam. Like you, however, I learned from the experience and worked harder to be better prepared for the next exam. I think you could have gone into a bit more detail of how the first exam was difficult, as well as what the study group you found taught you to be better prepared for the next one. I agree with a lot of your thoughts about failure as a necessary part of learning and solving problems.

Final reflection

1. After going through my assignments for this course. I believe the most informative was he elevator pitches. From 1-3 I really liked doing them it helped me see how I perform in a presentation business setting. I liked how people could put feedback and I can se what I need to work on and grow. This helped me with presenting and my people skills. Each one I improved on more and more because it was through the feedback. The feedback helped me reflect and make changes t perfect the last and final pitch.  2. I believe that I improved and grew off my entrepreneurship mindset. I really find it easy to see a problem and the hard part for me still is creating a solution to that problem. But it is through an innovation mindset that helps create a solution to that problem. 17A – Elevator Pitch No. 2 What I learned in my last video was that I need to lengthen my pitch. I also really need to wear a button down shirt. I need to be more enthusiastic. this will help with engaging my customers. I need to use no filler words. based on the feedback from my last one I revised it and made a new one. I used less filer words. I lengthened my pitch. I also used nicer clothes. I need to work on how I organize it though. So what I did was I talked about how I came up with my idea. I then showed how it can benefit society. Then showed what it does to society. But before all that I had to identify the problem. I identified it to then show my all around solution. I showed who could be my potential customers. This then helped me increase my pitch and explain my idea better. pitch 2
